MEDFORD, Ore. (Feb. 14, 2026) — The Medford School District Board of Directors announced that Jeanne Grazioli has been selected as the district’s next superintendent following a nationwide search that drew 26 applicants.
In a message to the community, the board said the comprehensive search process included extensive stakeholder engagement and community feedback, with timelines and updates shared throughout. The applicant pool was narrowed to eight semifinalists and ultimately two finalists.
“We thank McPherson & Jacobson for facilitating the search and demonstrating the utmost professionalism,” the board wrote. “We also thank the many staff, students, families, and community members who contributed valuable input throughout our selection process, which included 55 pages of survey feedback, and two diverse stakeholder interview panels who interviewed both finalists. Every comment was read and considered.”
The board said both finalists reflected the community’s priorities, including transparency, honesty, trustworthiness, listening and communication skills, teaching experience, and accountability.
“We had two very strong finalists, who both reflected our community’s desire for transparency, honesty, trustworthiness, listening and communication skills, teaching experience, and the ability to hold others accountable as well as being accountable themselves,” the board said. “The Board carefully selected the candidate who would best serve the district and who had the most desirable qualities as expressed by our staff, students, families, and community.”
Grazioli has worked in Medford for 14 years and brings more than 30 years of experience in education. She has served as interim superintendent for the past 10 months, during which time the board said she prioritized listening, building relationships and reviewing district strengths and priorities.
The board described Grazioli as a collaborative and steady leader who has built strong leadership teams and strengthened the partnership between district leadership and the board during her tenure as interim superintendent. Interview panels characterized her as thoughtful, humble and approachable, and someone who values multiple perspectives.
Upon being offered the position, Grazioli said she is “grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent. We have a strong foundation and a community that cares deeply about its schools. By building on what’s working and addressing challenges with clarity and courage, we can ensure every student has the opportunities they deserve.”
The board will now begin formal contract negotiations with Grazioli.
“We are committed to supporting every student, and look forward to doing this work collaboratively and effectively,” the board said.
