CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (Nov. 21, 2025) — Two adults were seriously injured Friday morning after a pickup ran a stop sign and crashed into a Jackson County School District 6 bus in rural Central Point, authorities said.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said ECSO 911 dispatchers received the report at 7:11 a.m. about a two-vehicle crash with multiple injuries at the intersection of Newland Road and Truax Road.
Deputies, along with Oregon State Police troopers and Jackson County Fire District 3 crews, arrived to find significant damage to the school bus. Two adults on board were taken to a Medford area hospital with serious injuries and were later listed in stable condition. One child was also on the bus and suffered minor injuries, according to officials. No one in the Toyota Tundra was reported hurt.
Investigators with the Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team responded to the scene. A preliminary investigation found the Tundra was traveling north on Truax Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the westbound school bus on Newland Road.
County road crews shut down the intersection while investigators examined the scene.
The STAR Team includes specialists from the sheriff’s office, Medford Police Department, Ashland Police Department, Central Point Police Department, and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office. JCSO said the case remains open and no additional details are available.
