Douglas County Sheriff: No Credible Threat to Glide High School

GLIDE, Ore. (Nov 18, 2025) — A social media post that appeared to threaten Glide High School has been deemed not credible following an investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, authorities said Monday.

Deputies were alerted on Nov. 17 to an online post circulating across social media platforms that seemed to make specific threats toward the school. Law enforcement worked closely with school administrators to ensure the safety of students and staff while investigators worked to verify the source and legitimacy of the post.

As part of the response, deputies contacted a person initially believed to have authored the threat. After conducting interviews and reviewing available investigative resources, deputies determined the individual was not responsible and posed no danger to the school, officials said. Investigators now believe the post was a hoax created by another student in an attempt to implicate the wrongly accused individual.

Out of what officials called an abundance of caution, additional deputies will be present on campus Monday, though classes will continue as scheduled. The Sheriff’s Office said it will remain in communication with school leadership as the investigation continues.

Authorities emphasize that no credible threat currently exists to Glide High School.
