Hope House Expansion Breaks Ground in Medford to Support Transitional Housing

Medford, Oregon- The Salvation Army, joined by city officials, community leaders, and supporters, broke ground Tuesday on a major expansion of its Hope House transitional living facility, marking a significant step toward addressing homelessness and housing instability in the region.

Located at 1065 Crews Road, Hope House provides a drug- and alcohol-free environment for individuals and families seeking to rebuild their lives. The facility offers transitional housing with the goal of guiding residents “from the streets to stability to employment and finally to a home,” according to The Salvation Army.

The expansion project includes the addition of a new two-story building that will feature seven multifamily units. The organization shared its excitement on social media, stating, “At The Salvation Army, we are committed to Doing the Most Good—and this expansion is a powerful step forward in that mission.”

In 2023, the Medford City Council awarded $300,000 from its Housing Opportunity Fund to support the expansion. The investment aligns with the city’s broader goals of increasing supportive and attainable housing options for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The project is part of a growing effort to provide long-term, stable housing solutions in the region and is expected to help more families transition out of crisis and into independence.
