Two Bears Spotted in an East Medford Hills Neighborhood

Medford, Oregon- Authorities in east Medford responded to a bear sighting Wednesday after a mother bear and her cub were seen near the intersection of Camina Drive and Veneto Circle, just off E. McAndrews Road.

According to officials, the mother bear left the area earlier in the day, while the cub remained treed nearby. By 6:45 p.m., the cub had come down and was seen hiding in nearby bushes. Police continued monitoring the situation and asked residents to give the animal space.

By 8:25 p.m., both bears appeared to have left the subdivision and were last seen in adjoining fields and an orchard.

Residents were urged to remain cautious while walking or driving in the area. Authorities advised people to stay indoors, keep pets inside, remove outdoor food or garbage, and under no circumstances approach the animals if spotted.

Officials said they would continue monitoring the area and provide updates as needed.
