MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov. 1, 2026) — Oregon voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 3, to return their ballots in the 2026 general election, with election officials encouraging residents to make sure their ballots are completed, signed and submitted before the deadline.
The statewide election includes races for governor, U.S. Senate, congressional seats and the Oregon Legislature, along with county and municipal offices and local ballot measures.
Oregon conducts elections primarily by mail, sending ballots to active registered voters. Ballots for the November election began going out Oct. 14.
The last recommended day to return a ballot through the mail was Oct. 27. However, voters who have not yet returned their ballots can still mail them, provided they are postmarked by Election Day. Mailed ballots must be received by county election officials within seven days after the election to be counted.
Voters who want to avoid potential mail delays can use an official ballot drop box. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be submitted by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Voters should remember to sign the ballot return envelope before submitting it. An unsigned envelope or a signature that does not match the signature on file may require additional steps before the ballot can be counted.
Most local ballot includes contests and measures at multiple levels of government. In Jackson County, voters are deciding races for the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, including Positions 1 and 3, along with city council positions, certain parks and recreation board seats, and soil and water conservation district positions.
