Rural Central Point, Oregon- A juvenile riding an electric dirt bike was killed Thursday night in a collision with a motorcycle near the intersection of Ross Lane and Old Stage Road in rural Central Point, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported to ECSO Dispatch at 8:56 p.m. Emergency personnel from JCSO, Oregon State Police, Jacksonville Police Department, and Mercy Flights ambulance responded to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that next-of-kin have been notified. The name of the juvenile is not being released due to the rider’s age and out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team is investigating the crash. The motorcycle rider is cooperating with investigators, and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
The STAR Team includes investigators from JCSO, Medford Police Department, Central Point Police Department, and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office. The case remains open and ongoing. No further details have been released.
