Suspect Arrested After Armed Domestic Violence Incident in Grants Pass

Grants Pass, Oregon- In the early hours of this morning, Grants Pass Police responded to a domestic violence incident on George Tweed Boulevard, which involved the use of a firearm. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Aidan Davis, reportedly fired a rifle into the ceiling, allegedly targeting a 22-year-old female victim. In addition to the firearm discharge, Davis is accused of physically assaulting an elderly male present at the scene.

Both victims sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Following the incident, Davis fled the scene. His truck was later found abandoned nearby, prompting a coordinated search operation by Grants Pass Police and detectives from the Oregon State Police. The search led authorities to a residence on SW Esther Lane, where Davis was allegedly being harbored by 20-year-old Alyssa Nichols. Nichols was arrested on charges of hindering prosecution.

Grants Pass Police officers surrounded the residence and, after a brief standoff, used a loud diversion device to encourage Davis to surrender. The suspect complied and was taken into custody without further incident.

Aidan Davis has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, two counts of Domestic Violence Menacing, Domestic Violence Assault in the Fourth Degree, Domestic Violence Strangulation, and Attempted Domestic Violence Assault in the First Degree. He is currently being held at the Josephine County Jail.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case, authorities say no additional details will be released to protect the victims involved.

The Grants Pass Police Department has expressed its gratitude to community members who assisted during the investigation and to the Oregon State Police for their support during the operation.
