


Lebanon, Oregon. – On Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 9:26 AM, the Lebanon Fire District responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of West Olive Street. The fire, which occurred in a single-family residence, prompted a large response from both the Lebanon Police Department and the Lebanon Fire District.
A Lebanon Police Department officer was the first to arrive on the scene. A neighbor informed the officer that someone was still inside the home. Acting quickly, the officer kicked in the front door, located the resident, and successfully assisted the individual to safety. The officer’s actions were pivotal in ensuring the resident’s survival.
As the officer was assisting the resident, the first units from the Lebanon Fire District arrived. Both the officer and the rescued resident received on-site treatment before being transported to Lebanon Community Hospital for further medical care. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Firefighters encountered thick, black smoke billowing from the front and side doors of the home. They quickly entered the building, containing the fire to the kitchen area and preventing it from spreading further. Crews remained on the scene for an additional two hours to complete overhaul operations and to investigate the cause of the fire.
In total, the Lebanon Fire District responded with 20 personnel across 11 apparatus. Emergency coverage was provided by Albany Fire during the incident. Additionally, firefighters were able to rescue a dog and a cat from the residence.

Authorities have yet to release further details on the cause of the fire or the current condition of the rescued individuals.
