NW Medford Resident Kills Armed Intruder During Alleged Break-In

Medford, Oregon- On Saturday, August 24, at approximately 6:14 PM, the Medford Police Department responded to reports of an attempted break-in at an apartment complex on Berrydale Road in northwest Medford. The initial report indicated that an unknown individual was attempting to force entry into an apartment.

Shortly after the first call, a second call was received reporting gunshots at the same location. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a deceased male with apparent gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased male had forcibly entered the apartment and was advancing towards one of the residents while armed with a knife. In response, another resident discharged a firearm, fatally wounding the intruder.
