

Eagle Point, Oregon– The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) and Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) responded to a series of small grass fires along the 1500-block of Reese Creek Road, north of Eagle Point around 6:39p today. Firefighters arrived on scene and implemented an aggressive initial attack, successfully extinguishing all active fires.
The largest of the fires covered approximately one acre. Firefighters are currently conducting mop-up operations to ensure the complete extinguishment of the fires. Resources will remain on-site to monitor and prevent any potential flare-ups.
The cause of the fires is under investigation. This will be the only update provided on this incident.
Despite recent scattered rain and a slight cool down in the forecast, extreme fire danger remains in effect. Fires can still start and spread easily. The public is urged to follow all current fire prevention regulations to help prevent further incidents.
