

Jackson County, Oregon- A number of power outages in the White City, Applegate, and Prospect areas of Jackson County have resulted in nearly 11,000 Pacific Power customers without service as of 6:22pm. Traffic signal failures are prompting authorities to advise caution and patience from motorists.
With signals rendered dark, drivers are reminded to treat intersections as four-way stops until power is restored.
The outage, affecting approximately 10,897 customers as of 6:22pm, has led to potential delays in the affected regions. The outages were first reported shortly before 5:00 this evening.
Authorities urge residents to exercise caution and adhere to traffic safety guidelines until normal operations resume.
Pacific Power has multiple crews on scene investigating and working the outages. Estimated time for full service restoration is before 2:30am tomorrow.
At this time, the causes are listed as “damaged lines” or “under investigation.” There are two active wildfires in Jackson County. One in the north metro and the other in the south. You can read more information on the wildfires here. At this time it is unknown if they are the cause of any of these outages.

11:50p Update: 980 Pacific Power customers remain without power tonight. Crews are continuing to work on full restoration.
Final Update: Pacific Power says service has been restored to all previously impacted customers.
