Power Crews Continue Work of Restoring Power After Winter Storms

Medford, Oregon- After a third wave of winter weather swept through the region, Pacific Power reports that crews have been working to address multiple scattered outages across the service areas in southern Oregon and northern California. As of the latest update, approximately 1,500 customers in Oregon and 330 customers in California remain affected by the outages.

Despite facing challenging winter conditions, field crews have been making steady progress in their restoration efforts. The majority of customers are expected to have their power restored by the end of the day. However, due to access issues in certain areas, some customers may experience extended outages and should be prepared for the possibility of being without power overnight.

Erik Brookhouse, the vice president of system operations at Pacific Power, expressed gratitude for the patience of customers during this time. He noted, “Our crews have been working tirelessly around the clock to restore power in these areas, in difficult terrain and tough conditions. We want to thank customers for their patience as our crews continue their efforts. We know being without power in the winter is a major inconvenience, and we are working to restore power as soon as is safely possible.”

In light of these events, Pacific Power encourages customers to always be prepared for outages. They support state and local emergency management organizations and recommend that Oregonians have an emergency plan in place for up to 72 hours without essential services.
