Fatal Shooting Incident in Grants Pass Leads to Arrest

Grants Pass, Oregon– In the early hours of February 6, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded in Grants Pass, resulting in the loss of a life and the arrest of a suspect. At approximately 4:08 am, local authorities received a distressing call from a male reporting a shooting incident in the 1000 block of SE Park Plaza.

Upon receiving the call, Grants Pass Police officers responded to the scene to secure the area. Upon arrival, they encountered 25-year-old Kiernan Fucci, who exited the residence and surrendered himself to the authorities without resistance.

Inside the apartment, officers discovered the lifeless body of a male victim, who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. The 23-year-old victim, in this case, has been identified as Jhonathan R. Davis Jr.

Thankfully, all other occupants of the apartment were confirmed to be uninjured. Authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing risk to public safety, as the incident was contained within the confines of the apartment.

The investigation into this tragic event is being pursued by Grants Pass Police detectives, with the assistance of various agencies including the Oregon State Police Major Crimes Unit, Oregon State Police Crime Lab, Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, and Grants Pass Fire/Rescue. The collaborative efforts of these agencies underscore the commitment to justice and safety within the community.

Kiernan Fucci, the individual who surrendered to authorities, has been taken into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail. He faces charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
