Medford, Oregon- In a continuous wave of car wash developments, another new car wash, unofficially nicknamed the “Bettencourt Car Wash,” is on the horizon for the north Medford area. The proposed project is set to take shape adjacent to an O’Reillys Autoparts store on OR62, positioned just northeast of the Rogue Valley Expressway Interchange.
The blueprint for the Bettencourt Car Wash outlines a 4,980 sqft facility featuring a pre-engineered metal building with metal panels. The structure is designed to house twin car wash lanes running parallel to each other. Notably, the proposed use of this car wash building is fully automated and will operate without onsite staff.
The developers emphasize the nature of the Bettencourt Car Wash, highlighting its efficiency and independence from traditional staffing requirements. This characteristic aligns with the decision not to incorporate pedestrian or employee access points into the building’s design.

This latest proposal marks the fifth car wash-related project within the city limits of Medford over the past couple years. Currently, one car wash project is in the construction phase near Owen and Crater Lake Ave in northeast Medford. Another project gained approval to replace a former McDonald’s in south Medford, following the eventual demolition of the existing structure. In addition, a car wash is underway at the corner of W. McAndrews and Ross Lane as part of the new Pioneer Marketplace development, while another is tentatively planned for the final phase of the Northgate Office Park.
The City of Medford is set to review the Bettencourt Car Wash proposal at its upcoming meeting on December 20th.
