The Medford Fire Department has taken a significant step in enhancing their emergency response capabilities with the recent completion of specialized training for their firefighters in UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) Safety and Operations.



The addition of these UTVs signifies a notable advancement in the department’s ability to handle emergencies in challenging terrains. With a 75-gallon water tank and fire pump, these vehicles are equipped to handle a range of incidents, ensuring the safety and protection of the surrounding areas.
One of the new UTV units has been strategically stationed at Fire Station 14 near Railroad Park, while the other is readily available for deployment from Fire Station 13 near Bear Creek Park. This strategic placement ensures that both ends of the Bear Creek Greenway are covered, allowing the department to efficiently respond to incidents and mitigate potential hazards promptly.
The Medford Fire Department, expressed gratitude to the firefighters who underwent the rigorous UTV Safety and Operations training. The department emphasized that this investment in specialized equipment and training is a testament to the department’s commitment to safeguarding the community.
