


A three-alarm fire broke out on the 800 block of S. Columbus St. in west Medford at approximately 8:11p today. The incident was initially reported by a number of 911 callers, one of who mentioned the possibility of one person being trapped inside. Multiple emergency services have responded promptly to the scene, including Medford Fire, Medford Police, JCFD3, JCSO, and the Jacksonville Fire Department. Mercy Flights ground ambulance is also present.
As a precautionary measure, several streets in the vicinity have been temporarily closed to ensure the safety and efficiency of the first responders. A large plume of smoke has been observed over west Medford, signaling the intensity of the blaze. Additionally, authorities evacuated several neighboring houses to ensure the safety of the residents.
The fire appears to have affected a travel trailer next to a home. The trailer was mostly engulfed in flames. At the moment, there is no available confirmed information regarding the condition of any potentially trapped individuals.
