UPDATE: Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest canceled a planned controlled burn near Horn Gap (USFS 2060 and 2060-200). No need to avoid the area because of smoke and burn operations.
Ashland Forest Resiliency is conducting a controlled burn today (Saturday, May 13th). Smoke will be highly visible throughout Ashland and the Rogue Valley.
The controlled burn is located in the Horn Gap area on the west side of the Ashland Watershed.
Sections of the US Forest Service 2060 and 2060-200 roads along with Horn Gap and Rickety trails may be impacted by drifting smoke.
Due to traffic, ongoing burn operations and smoke; organizers ask the public to avoid the upper trails on the west side of the watershed. Alternative trails include Four Corners and Eastview Trail.
