Winter Storm Warning Issued for Jackson County

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM FRIDAY TO 11 AM MONDAY ABOVE 2500 FEET

  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected above 2500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 22 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • WHERE…Eastern Douglas County Foothills and Jackson County Cascades Foothills, including Butte Falls and Prospect. This includes highways 62, 138, and 140.
  • WHEN…From 11 PM Friday to TO 11 AM MONDAY ABOVE 2500 FEET.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
  • Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.
  • If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you.
  • The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.
  • A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is likely and poses a threat to life and property. Take protective action now.
