Medford Police Send Completed Asante Drug-Swapping Case Findings to District Attorney

Medford, Oregon- The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office has announced the conclusion of the Medford Police Department’s investigation concerning the theft and improper usage of controlled substances by a former Asante nurse.

The incidents resulted in severe infections among several patients. This investigation, which began in December 2023, involved the scrutiny of tens of thousands of documents, medical records, and involved interviews with numerous witnesses. Patrick Green, Chief Deputy District Attorney, is currently assessing the investigation’s findings.

Chief Deputy DA Green expressed gratitude to the Medford Police Department for their diligent and thorough efforts throughout this extensive and intricate investigation. He assured the community of his commitment to promptly review the investigation’s outcomes.

If charges are pursued, he will spearhead the prosecution and appoint two other seasoned prosecutors as co-counsel to support the legal process. Green emphasized that he shares the community’s concerns and will prioritize the case accordingly moving forward.

In light of the ongoing investigation and the potential for forthcoming criminal charges, the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office has announced that no further details regarding this matter will be released at this time.
