The Central Point Police Department (CPPD) will have a new top cop for the first time in a decade, beginning in 2023. CPPD Chief Kristine Allison announced earlier this year she plans on retiring by the end of 2022.

Current CPPD Chief Kristine Allison has released the following message regarding her exit and incoming new top brass.
Early in July, I met with the City Manager and announced that I would retire on Dec. 31st, 2022. I have been with the Central Point Police Department for over twenty-four years and almost eleven years as Chief of Police. I am proud of the men and women of the Police Department, the Officers, Community Service Officers, and Support Staff working daily to serve the Central Point Community. Over the last ten years, the Police Department has had numerous successes that are difficult to count. I wanted to highlight several achievements of hiring quality individuals, focusing on customer service to our community, and working directly with public and private partners to make livability in Central Point a priority.
Many people have asked what I plan to do after retiring, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to explore a dream of mine to attend law school and continue my career in the legal field.
I am excited to announce the City Manager has internally appointed Captain Scott Logue as the next Chief of Police for the City of Central Point.
Chief Logue enters the position with 21 years of law enforcement experience and has worked for the Central Point Police Department for 20. Chief Scott Logue grew up in Southern Oregon and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1995. He studied Criminology while attending Southern Oregon University on a basketball scholarship. Chief Logue earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from SOU.
Chief Logue was hired by the City of Central Point Police Department in 2002. During his employment with the Central Point Police Department, Chief Logue has held the position of Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Corporal, Task Force Officer, and Lieutenant. Chief Logue has been involved as the Field Training, Police K-9, Survival Skills/Training, and Explorer Coordinator during his time with the Central Point Police Department. Chief Logue holds a Management Certificate from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and has over 2,200 training hours.
Let me be the first to congratulate Chief Logue and the Central Point Police Department. I have been proud to be your Chief, and I know the Community and Department will be in good hands.
