Suspect in Double Homicide Dead, Infant Safely Rescued on I-5

This is a developing story, and an update to our previous article regarding this incident.

Eugene, Oregon- Authorities say that Oregon State Patrol (OSP) located the earlier Amber Alert suspects vehicle on Tuesday, April 23rd, around 3pm, driving southbound on Interstate 5 near Eugene, and initiated a pursuit.

The high-speed chase concluded with OSP reporting that the suspect sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

During the incident, OSP troopers safely took custody of a 1-year-old child named Roman Santos.

Authorities say this remains a developing situation, with further details expected to be disclosed at a press conference scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th, hosted by the West Richland Police Department.

Oregon State Police will also have a news conference at 6p this evening. Medford Alert will provide updates afterwards. UPDATE
