MEDFORD, Ore. (Oct. 1, 2026) — CASA of Jackson County is undergoing a leadership transition following the resignation of Executive Director Sarah Robbins, effective Tuesday, Sept. 29.
CASA said Robbins’ resignation was unexpected but described the transition as amicable and positive. Robbins will remain connected to the organization as a community supporter.
During her time with CASA, Robbins implemented strategies and organizational changes that the organization said will continue to strengthen its work in the years ahead. CASA also highlighted her legal knowledge and expertise, as well as the energy, laughter and enthusiasm she brought to community and recruitment events.
CASA Program Director Cristina Petrone will serve as the organization’s interim executive director.
Petrone has six years of experience with CASA, including managing the organization’s team of CASA supervisors, overseeing cases and serving as a CASA volunteer. She will receive support from the CASA Board of Directors throughout the transition.
Jennifer Mylenek, CASA’s retired executive director, will also assist during the transition as an independent contractor.
CASA said its immediate priority is maintaining continuity for its staff, volunteers, donors and community partners, while ensuring services continue for the children and families it serves.
The organization said its programs and services will continue without interruption during the leadership transition.

CASA of Jackson County works to recruit, train and support community volunteers who advocate for children involved in the child welfare and court systems because of abuse or neglect.
Court Appointed Special Advocates, commonly known as CASAs, serve as advocates for children and work to help ensure their needs and best interests are represented throughout court and child welfare proceedings.
CASA of Jackson County has served the local community since 1990 and is part of the broader CASA network serving children across the country.
The organization is based in Medford and relies on volunteers, donors and community partners to support its work on behalf of children and families in Jackson County.
