Extended Road Closures Expected After Serious Crash in Southeast Medford

MEDFORD, Ore. (Jun. 5, 2026) — A serious motor vehicle crash in southeast Medford prompted an extensive police investigation and road closures Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Medford Police Department reported officers were dispatched at approximately 4:30 p.m. to the area of Juanipero Way and North Phoenix Road in southeast Medford following a crash.

Due to the severity of the incident, the department activated its Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities said surrounding roads will remain closed for an extended period while investigators process the scene and gather evidence. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, use alternate routes and expect delays.

Officials have not yet released information regarding injuries, or the number of vehicles involved. Additional details are expected as the investigation continues.


UPDATE from officials:

North Phoenix Road has reopened following a crash near North Phoenix Road and Juanipero Way.

The crash involved a golf cart and a passenger vehicle. The driver and passenger of the golf cart were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
