MEDFORD, Ore. (May. 19, 2026) — Early election returns Tuesday night showed Southern Oregon voters supporting several local funding measures, while a statewide transportation tax proposal was overwhelmingly failing.
Jackson County
RVTD Measure 15-240
Voters appeared to support renewing a five-year levy for the Rogue Valley Transportation District.
YES: 61.7% NO: 38.3%
The levy would maintain and enhance public bus services at the current tax rate.
Ashland School District Measure 15-241
The Ashland School District Youth Activities and Academics Levy was passing comfortably in early returns.
YES: 76.71% NO: 23.83%
The levy funds educational and extracurricular programs and is scheduled to expire in June 2026 if not renewed.
Josephine County
Animal Shelter Measure 17-127
A new local option tax for animal shelter and animal control services was narrowly leading.
YES: 54.38% NO: 45.62%
The measure would replace an existing tax that expires in 2027.
Illinois Valley Fire District Measure 17-126
Voters were narrowly backing increased funding for 24/7 firefighter and EMT staffing in the Illinois Valley Fire District.
YES: 51.60% NO: 48.40%
The levy would raise property taxes to $0.99 per $1,000 of assessed value and replace the district’s current levy.

Measure 120
Oregon voters were overwhelmingly rejecting Measure 120, which would increase fuel taxes, vehicle fees and payroll taxes for public transportation projects.
YES: 17.27% NO: 82.73%

Democratic Primary
Denise Kraus: 37.47% Tonia Moro: 33.34% Kevin Stine 11.38%
Republican Primary
Brad Hicks: 98.81% Write-In: 1.19%
Results remain unofficial as additional ballots continue to be counted statewide.
