Authorities Reopen East McAndrews Road After Serious Collision

MEDFORD, Ore. (Apr. 10, 2026) — A serious crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle prompted an extended closure of a major roadway in east Medford on Friday, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to the collision on East McAndrews Road, leading officials to shut down the roadway in both directions between Poplar Drive and Royal Avenue. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes as responders worked at the scene.

The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team was activated to investigate the circumstances of the crash, indicating the severity of the incident.

Officials did not immediately release information about injuries or the cause of the collision.

In an update issued at 2:05 p.m., authorities said East McAndrews Road had been reopened and thanked the public for their patience.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
