Man Found Dead After Apparent Fall at Lower Table Rock

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (Apr. 9, 2026) — Authorities in southern Oregon are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man whose body was found Wednesday morning after he was reported missing near Lower Table Rock.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said search and rescue teams were notified at 9:38 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, after dispatch received a report of a man who had not returned from the Lower Table Rock trail.

Search efforts resumed Wednesday, when sheriff’s search and rescue deputies and volunteers located the man deceased. Officials said the death appears to have resulted from a fall from the cliffs at Lower Table Rock.

Search and rescue crews coordinated recovery of the body.

The case remains under investigation, but authorities said the death appears to be non-criminal and there is no evidence of foul play.

Officials said the man’s next of kin has been notified. His identity has not been released out of respect for the family’s privacy.

“There is no further information available for release,” the sheriff’s office said, adding condolences to the man’s family and friends.
