MEDFORD, Ore. (Apr. 2, 2026) — A motorcycle crash prompted the closure of a major roadway in east Medford as police investigated the scene Thursday.
Medford Police said officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and Johnson Street. The crash led authorities to shut down traffic on Crater Lake Avenue, with detours put in place for drivers.
The department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No additional details, including the number of vehicles involved or the extent of injuries, were immediately released.
Police said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: The roadway is now open to traffic.
