Authorities Search for Missing 80-Year-Old Man With Dementia Near Rogue River

ROGUE RIVER, Ore. (Mar. 19, 2026) — Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and search and rescue crews are searching for an 80-year-old man with dementia who went missing Thursday evening in the Rogue River area.

The man was last seen about two hours earlier in the 1600 block of Wards Creek Road and is believed to be on foot, possibly heading toward the town of Rogue River, authorities said.

He is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue pants.

Officials urge anyone who may have seen the man or has information about his whereabouts to contact Deputy McLennan at 541-613-9078.

Search and rescue personnel continue to canvass the area as the investigation remains ongoing.
