Police Search West Medford Home After Domestic Violence Report; Suspect Not Found

MEDFORD, Ore. (Feb. 24, 2026) — Police searched a west Medford home Tuesday after a reported domestic violence assault led officers to believe an armed, barricaded suspect was inside, authorities said.

The investigation began earlier in the day in the 400 block of South Columbus Avenue after a victim reported a domestic violence assault. The victim identified the suspect as a convicted felon and told officers firearms were inside the residence.

Based on the information gathered, police said there was probable cause to arrest the suspect on allegations of fourth-degree domestic violence assault, menacing, felon in possession of a firearm and reckless driving.

Officers established a perimeter near South Columbus Avenue and Prune Street and deployed drones to increase visibility while awaiting a search warrant. Specialized units also responded to assist.

After obtaining the warrant, officers breached the residence and conducted a thorough search of the home, including crawl spaces and a fifth-wheel trailer on the property. A K-9 unit assisted in clearing the scene. The suspect was not located inside the residence.

Police said officers are continuing to search for the firearms reported to be at the location. Once that process is complete, units will begin clearing the area.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood. No further information will be released.

Police thanked the community for its patience as officers worked to safely resolve the situation.
