PHOENIX, Ore. (Feb. 21, 2026) — A longtime Rogue Valley pizza restaurant has closed its Phoenix location, prompting concern from customers following other recent restaurant closures in the area.
Angelo’s Pizza announced this week that it has shuttered its Phoenix restaurant after selling the property due to what management described as a family trust situation. The building’s new owners plan to reopen the space as Legends Pizza Company, according to a statement from Angelo’s management.
“We sold that property due to a family trust situation and they wanted the building because they wanted to have a pizza restaurant,” the statement said, adding that as far as management knows, the restaurant will reopen soon under the new name.
The closure comes amid heightened community reaction after other businesses, including Ray’s Market and Abby’s Pizza in White City, recently closed or announced changes, fueling speculation about the stability of local establishments.
Angelo’s management sought to reassure customers that the company is not leaving the region entirely.
“Phoenix will not be abandoned completely I promise,” the statement read. “We have been there since 1981, it has been a very difficult and disheartening decision. I love my employees and my customers so much and I take their feelings seriously.”
While the Phoenix location has closed, Angelo’s confirmed it will continue operating its west Medford restaurant. Management emphasized that the business has longstanding roots in the community, dating back to the 1960s.
“Angelo’s Pizza isn’t going anywhere,” the statement said. “Yes, the building is up for sale, but we have a three-year lease into the future. Plus we are looking at buying the building as well.”
The company said it has received numerous calls from customers concerned about a potential full closure. Management clarified that only the Phoenix location has closed and that the Medford restaurant plans to remain open long term.
“To everyone who has been frantically calling us to find out if we were closing, no, Phoenix closed, but Medford will be here for a long time,” the statement said. “We love every one of you and are thankful for all your love and support over the years.”
No timeline was provided for when the former Phoenix location will reopen as Legends Pizza Company.
