US-199 Closed in Grants Pass Due to Police Activity

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Feb.7, 2026)— A section of U.S. Highway 199, also known as the Grants Pass Parkway, was closed Saturday afternoon due to police activity, officials said.

The closure stretches between Parkdale Drive and Oregon 99, and authorities warned it could remain in place for an extended period. Drivers are urged to follow posted detours or use alternate routes and to use caution while traveling in the area.

Traffic congestion is expected as crews and law enforcement continue operations at the scene. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.

The Grants Pass Police Department released the following statement:

Due to police activity the Parkway Bridge is closed. Please avoid the area. There is no danger to the public but there will be an extended closure”
