MEDFORD, Ore. (Jan 19, 2026) — A 15-year-old Medford-area girl who had been reported missing has been found safe after Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives followed a lead to the Eugene area, authorities said Monday.
Ava Wall, of rural Medford, was located three days after she was reported missing Friday night, according to the sheriff’s office. She is now with authorities and has not yet returned home.
In a statement, Ava’s parents expressed gratitude to the community for helping bring her to safety.
“We wanted to share the news as soon as we could: Ava has been located and is now with authorities,” the statement said. “She is not home yet, and we don’t have many details to share right now, but we are beyond grateful to know she has been found.”
The family credited social media and community tips for playing a critical role in the investigation.
“Thank you to every single person who shared posts, made calls, searched, prayed, and refused to give up,” the statement said. “A community tip — sparked by social media — played a critical role in bringing her to safety.”
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said potential criminal charges may be considered for individuals who harbored the runaway teen. No further information was immediately available.
The family also added; “As you can imagine, this is an overwhelming moment for our family. We will share more updates when we are able, but for now we ask for continued thoughts and understanding as we focus on her wellbeing.”
Ava’s parents said they are on their way to her and asked for continued understanding as they focus on her wellbeing.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” the statement said. “This community helped bring our girl back.”
