Medford, Oregon- Eight local organizations will share $615,563 in federal funding after the Medford City Council approved acceptance of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at its Sept. 17 meeting.
The money will support transitional housing renovations, community improvements such as park upgrades, and services benefiting low- and moderate-income residents throughout Medford.
The funding recipients and projects include:
Medford Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department — $239,212 to renovate the aquatic building at Jackson Park.
Youth 71Five Ministries — $150,000 to renovate transitional housing on Almond Street.
ACCESS — $103,600 to rehabilitate eight rental units at Birch Corners.
Hearts With A Mission — $62,304 to renovate transitional housing on Edwards Street.
The Salvation Army — $34,750 to support Hope House transitional living.

The Center for Non-Profit Legal Services — $16,000 to build housing stabilization and resiliency programs.
La Clinica — $11,584 to provide health outreach services.
The organizations were chosen through a competitive process earlier this year, with proposals reviewed by the Community Services and Development Commission and the Housing Advisory Commission. The grant covers the 2025 program year, which began July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2026.
Medford has participated in the CDBG program since 1989, receiving more than $20.6 million in federal funding. Since 2009, the city has awarded CDBG grants to more than 45 local organizations supporting affordable housing, community development and essential services.
