Grants Pass Man Honored for Life-Saving CPR at Grocery Store

Lifesaving Award

Grants Pass, Oregon- Fire and police officials will recognize a local man Friday for his quick actions that helped save a life at an Albertsons grocery store earlier this summer.

Noah Anderson will receive a Life-Saving Award during a ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Grants Pass Parkway Fire Station, 800 E Park Street.

On July 7, Anderson was working at the Allen Creek Albertsons when a shopper collapsed unexpectedly. He immediately recognized the signs of a medical emergency and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation while others called 911, officials said.

Grants Pass Fire and American Medical Response crews arrived within minutes, providing advanced care. The patient regained consciousness at the scene, was taken to Rogue Regency Hospital in Medford, and is now recovering.

“We commend Noah Anderson for his decisive actions,” Fire Chief Sanchez said. “His willingness to step in and begin CPR before emergency crews arrived made a critical difference in saving a life.”

Medical experts say early CPR can significantly improve survival rates during sudden cardiac arrest. Officials encourage community members to seek training through local hospitals or organizations such as the American Heart Association.
