
Medford, Oregon- Road crews across Medford are hitting the streets this summer as part of the city’s ongoing street maintenance program aimed at preserving and improving more than 800 lane miles of roadway.
The City of Medford’s Surface Maintenance Crew, operating under the Public Works Department, recently completed asphalt overlay work on Corona Avenue. The work marks the beginning of a robust schedule of road improvement projects planned for the 2025 summer season.
From the week of July 14 through September, city contractors are set to begin overlay work on several high-traffic routes, including:
Highway 62 Barrydale Avenue Intersection of North Phoenix Road and Barnett Road
Street segments selected for overlays and patching are chosen using a pavement management analysis. The process evaluates a variety of factors, including roadway classification and traffic volume, to determine which areas most need attention.
Patching work will take place throughout the summer on the following streets:
• Angelcrest Drive – Highcrest Dr. to Cloudcrest Dr.
• Bradbury Street – Crater Lake Ave. to Sandra Pl.
• Corona Avenue – Grand Ave. to Johnson St.
• S. Columbus Avenue – Stewart Ave. to Diamond St.
• E. Jackson Street – Stewart Ave. to Filmore Dr.
• Lone Pine Road – Roberts Rd. to Haven St.
• N. Holly Street – N. Columbus Ave. to Hawaiian Ave.
• Cedar Links Drive – Delta Waters Rd. to Holly St.
• W. 8th Street – W. 10th St. to Kenyon St.
• Garfield Street – Holmes Ave. to Mariposa Ter.
• Hillcrest Road – End to Monte Vista Dr. Orchard
• View Terrace – End to S. Orange St.
• W. Main Street – W. 11th St. to Orchard View Ter.
• Cherry Lane – High Oak Dr. to Velia St.
• Johnson Street – Morrow Rd. to White Oak Rd.
• E. Main Street – Acorn Way to Winter Nell Cir.
• Murphy Road – End
Additionally, the city has partnered with contractor One Way Trigger to complete a series of slurry seal applications across various neighborhoods. That work, which began earlier this season, is scheduled for completion by June 30 and includes the following streets:
• 10th Street – Oakdale Ave. to Riverside Ave.
• Crater Lake Avenue – From 200 ft. north of Delta Waters Rd. to Vilas Rd.
• Front Street – W. 4th St. to W. 6th St.
• Ivy Street – W. 8th St. to W. 10th St.
• Link Drive – Fieldstone Dr. to Fieldbrook Ave.
• La Loma Drive – Juanipero Way to Donnalee Dr.
• W. Main Street – From city limits
• Columbus Avenue – Merriman Rd. to Table Rock Rd.
• Table Rock Road – From city limits
• Stewart Avenue – S. Oakdale Ave. to S. Peach St. and from Riverside Ave. to Holly St.
• N. Pacific Highway – From Table Rock Rd. to 365 ft. north of Merriman Rd.
The city encourages residents to remain aware of posted signs and to prepare for temporary disruptions as crews work to improve roadway conditions throughout the summer.
