Annual Pacific Islander Summer Celebration Returns to Medford August 3

Samoa Pacific Development Corporation

Medford, Oregon- The Samoa Pacific Development Corporation will host its Annual Pacific Islander Southern Oregon Summer Celebration on Sunday August 3, 2025, 3 pm, at Oakdale Middle School in Medford. This year’s theme, “Embrace and Hold On to Your Culture,” highlights the importance of preserving Pacific Islander heritage and identity.

The free public event will feature traditional cultural performances, food vendors, cultural games, and local resource booths. Organizers say the celebration provides a space for Pacific Islanders to connect with their roots while also welcoming those from outside the community to learn more about the rich cultural traditions of the Pacific Islands.

Hosted by the Samoa Pacific Development Corporation, a nonprofit that serves Samoan and Pacific Islander communities across Oregon, the event emphasizes cultural pride, intergenerational connection, and community engagement.

“This event is rooted in providing a space for our community to celebrate their cultural heritage and identity but also an opportunity to connect with local resources” the organization stated in its announcement.

All are welcome to attend, regardless of cultural background. Attendees will have opportunities to engage with local organizations, participate in cultural activities, and experience the vibrant heritage of Pacific Island nations.
