Ashland, Oregon- A grass fire broke out Monday afternoon on the far northwest end of Ashland, just outside the city limits, prompting a response from local fire and police agencies.
Emergency crews are currently on scene and working to contain the blaze, which has burned approximately a half-acre, according to law enforcement. Authorities said there is no threat to the City of Ashland at this time.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area around Eagle Mill Road and the north end of Oak Street while firefighters work to stop the fire. Police and fire officials said updates will be issued once the situation is under control and an all-clear is given.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
