Medford, Oregon- Rogue Community College music students will take center stage in June with two free concerts open to the public, highlighting the musical talents and dedication of the RCC Music Department.
The first performance, “Timeless Classics: An Evening of Enduring Music and Song,” will be presented by the RCC Riverside Chorus at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 9, at First United Methodist Church, 601 W. Main St. in Medford. The concert, directed by Pam Nordquist, will feature a selection of beloved choral works spanning generations.
The following evening, on Tuesday, June 10, the RCC Chamber Music Ensemble will offer “Classical and Jazzy Serenades” at 7 p.m. in Room 132 of the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center, located at 101 S. Bartlett St., Medford. Directed by Chiharu Sai, the ensemble will perform an eclectic program of classical and jazz compositions.
Both concerts are free to attend, with donations accepted to support the RCC Music Department. Organizers say the performances provide an opportunity for the community to enjoy intimate concerts featuring timeless and dynamic music by local student musicians.
