Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Jackson County

Medford, Oregon- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Jackson County, effective from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PDT on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The advisory warns of snow accumulation and potential hazardous driving conditions.

Snowfall is expected to range between 0.5 to 2 inches, primarily affecting areas above 2,000 feet in elevation. The advisory covers the communities of Prospect, Butte Falls, and foothills above 2,000 feet in east Medford, Talent, Phoenix, and Ashland. Portions of Interstate 5 south of Ashland, Highway 238 at Jacksonville Hill, and higher sections of Highways 62 and 140 are also included in the affected area.

Travelers are advised to prepare for slippery road conditions, which could impact the Thursday morning commute. Drivers should exercise caution and allow extra time for travel.

Snow levels are expected to range between 2,000 and 2,500 feet late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning as a band of showers moves through the area.
