Medford, Oregon- Foothill Road is now open to traffic following the completion of base paving for Stage III of the improvement project. Contractor Knife River has finished work on the section between Normil Terrace and Cedar Links Drive, allowing the entire roadway to reopen. Detours that have been in place since January 2024 are being removed.
Despite the reopening, Foothill Road remains an active construction zone. Drivers should anticipate flagging operations, lane shifts, and potential delays as crews continue work on the project.
Ongoing Construction Phases
• Stage III (Normil Terrace to Cedar Links Drive): Sidewalk and landscaping construction is ongoing. One lane in each direction will remain open until final paving and striping are completed.
• Stage IV (Cedar Links Drive to Delta Waters Road): Foothill Road is open to through traffic, but flagging and delays should be expected as construction continues.
• Water Main Installation: Crews are installing a 24-inch water main from Foothill Road to Cedar Links Drive. This work will require additional flagging and may cause further delays in the area.
Officials urge drivers to use caution while traveling through the area and allow extra time for potential delays. “Thank you for your patience as we work to improve Foothill Road,” project officials stated.
