Medford, Oregon- The City of Medford will host an Open House today, January 30, to provide updates on the Downtown 2040 Plan, a long-term initiative aimed at revitalizing the city’s core. The hybrid event offers both an in-person option at the Holly Theatre from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and an online platform available on the city’s project webpage for two weeks.
City officials encourage community participation as they seek public input on proposed changes and ideas for the downtown area. The event will highlight several key components of the plan, including architectural and site design standards, proposed code changes, and activation areas for redevelopment.
“The Downtown 2040 Plan is a collaborative effort, and public input is critical to its success,” a city representative stated. “This Open House offers an opportunity for residents to engage directly with the project, provide valuable feedback, and help shape Medford’s downtown for future generations.”
The City has outlined specific goals for the Open House:
• Presenting updates on the project, including completed milestones and delivered information
• Gathering input on proposed code changes and design standards
• Reviewing potential activation areas for redevelopment
• Answering community questions and identifying next steps
In addition to the discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the newly restored Holly Theatre.
For those unable to attend in person, the online Open House will remain accessible for two weeks, allowing residents to review materials and submit feedback at their convenience. The city emphasized that ongoing community engagement will continue to be a central part of the planning process.
For more information or to participate in the online Open House, residents are encouraged to visit the Downtown 2040 Plan project webpage. Feedback collected during this period will contribute to shaping the final vision and goals for Medford’s downtown transformation.
