Medford Fire Crews Contain Blaze at Sunset Inn Motel

Medford, Oregon- A structure fire at the Sunset Inn Motel on North Riverside Avenue was quickly contained yesterday morning thanks to the rapid response of Medford Fire crews. The fire, reported at 7:29 a.m., was limited to a single unit of the extended-stay motel, which houses many long-term residents.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered an active blaze in one unit. Utilizing a four-person staffing model, crews brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, preventing it from spreading to adjacent units. The swift containment minimized damage and ensured the safety of other residents in the building.

One occupant and their pets were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance to those affected.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Deputy Fire Marshal’s office, which is working to determine its origin and contributing factors.

No injuries were reported, and the quick resolution highlights the efficiency of Medford Fire’s operational model.
