Medford, Oregon- On Wednesday, Medford Police arrested two 17-year-olds in connection with a shooting incident on October 27. The suspects, residents of Josephine County, were taken into custody in Grants Pass after being identified through a police investigation. Both are being held at the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center on multiple charges, including Assault in the First Degree.
The incident reportedly occurred at a private event on October 27, when the two juveniles entered and caused a disturbance. Event organizers escorted them from the premises, at which point one suspect allegedly retrieved a handgun from a vehicle and fired at the individuals who had removed them. Two people—a 17-year-old and a 37-year-old security guard—sustained gunshot injuries. Both were hospitalized and have since been released.
Authorities have identified one of the arrested juveniles as the suspected shooter, while the other is believed to have been the driver. In addition to assault charges, the driver is facing charges of Hindering Prosecution.
