
Josephine County- Authorities are seeking information on the whereabouts of two men, Donald Pratt, 71, and Eric Pratt, 39, who went missing after embarking on a hunting trip in the Illinois Valley on October 20, 2024. The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search and urging the public to come forward with any details.
Donald Pratt, described as a 71-year-old white male, stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Eric Pratt, his companion, is 39 years old, also white, standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 300 pounds. Like his father, he has brown hair and brown eyes.
The two men were last seen early in the morning on October 20, when their vehicle, a white Toyota pickup with a white canopy, was captured on cameras heading toward the Illinois Valley. The vehicle bears Oregon plate 267 CZH. Authorities believe they traveled up Lone Mountain Road near O’Brien and may be in the vicinity of the Sourdough Campground.
The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the men to contact them immediately at 541-474-5123, referencing case number 24-25041.
Authorities are continuing to investigate and are preparing search teams for the remote area. Further updates will be provided as the search progresses.
UPDATE: Authorities say Josephine County Search and Rescue, with assistance from Oregon State Police’s airplane, Del Norte County Search and Rescue, and US Forest Service, successfully located Donald and Eric Pratt. They are both safe.
