Medford, Oregon- The Medford City Council has approved the allocation of $570,000 in funding for a range of local projects and programs aimed at enhancing the community’s well-being. These funds, part of the Council Community Initiative Funds, are sourced from local and state marijuana tax revenue and will target public spaces, educational opportunities, cultural preservation, and community health.

The approved funds will support the following initiatives:

Rogue Rapids Swim Scholarships ($10,000): This program will provide swim scholarships to local youth, promoting water safety and increasing access to recreational activities for families in Medford.
Downtown Medford Association ($125,000): An investment designed to support the revitalization of downtown Medford, enhancing its appeal for residents and visitors by creating a more vibrant, engaging space.
