The Old Spaghetti Factory to Open in Former Porters Restaurant Downtown

Medford, Oregon- On May 11, 2024, Porters, a beloved restaurant in Downtown Medford, officially closed its doors after more than 20 years in operation. Located on Front Street, Porters was a central part of the downtown community, hosting countless celebrations, events, and even serving as a filming location for the 2013 Hollywood film Night Moves.

However, the historic train depot at 147 N. Front Street may not remain vacant for long. Portland-based restaurant chain, The Old Spaghetti Factory, has submitted plans for a kitchen remodel to accommodate a new restaurant in the building. While modifications to the kitchen are planned, no significant structural changes to the structure are expected at this time.

The Old Spaghetti Factory, which was founded in 1969 by Guss and Sally Dussin, has grown to operate over 40 locations across 13 states, along with two restaurants in Japan. The new Medford location will be the chain’s only outlet between Eugene and the Sacramento area.

While an official opening date for the new restaurant has not been confirmed, Medford Alert has reached out to the company for further details. At the time of publication, there has been no response.

Medford Alert will provide updates as more information becomes available.
