Verizon Outage Affecting Customers in Southern Oregon and Northern California

Medford, Oregon- Verizon Wireless customers across the United States reported widespread service disruptions Monday morning, with many users stating that their phones were limited to SOS mode. As of 10:00 AM, over 100,000 outage reports had been logged on DownDetector, a platform that tracks service issues for telecommunications providers and other businesses.

The outages were reported in major cities, from New York to Los Angeles, as well as in Southern Oregon and Northern California. A common complaint among users was the inability to connect to Verizon’s wireless network, leaving many mobile phones in SOS mode. According to Apple, phones in this mode can still make emergency calls by connecting to other carriers.

One resident in southeast Medford informed Medford Alert that the outage had affected their ability to schedule client appointments. However, the service interruptions appear to be scattered, as another Verizon user in northeast Medford reported no issues.

Verizon has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause or expected duration of the outage. Medford Alert will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
