Medford, Oregon– On Friday afternoon, multiple grass fires broke out near the corner of Oak Grove and Madonna, prompting a swift response from Medford Fire Department (MFD) crews. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered three separate grass fires in the area.
MFD, supported by the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Southwest Oregon District and the Jacksonville Fire Department, worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fires. A private water tender on the scene also assisted with efforts, helping prevent the situation from escalating further.
The fires serve as a reminder that fire season is still in effect, despite recent rainfall and cooler temperatures. With warmer weather expected to return next week, fire officials urge residents to remain cautious and adhere to the fire prevention regulations established by ODF Southwest.
Fire officials stressed the importance of continued vigilance during fire season, noting that community cooperation is essential in preventing wildfires.
