Medford Police Investigate Stabbing at Delta Waters Area Car Wash

Medford, Oregon- On the morning of Saturday, September 14, at approximately 6:10 AM, a Medford Police Department (MPD) patrol officer conducting extra patrol at the Delta Waters Car Wash, located at the intersection of Crater Lake Highway and Delta Waters Road, encountered a critical situation involving an assault with a weapon.

The officer approached a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot and discovered that one of the vehicle’s occupants, a 44-year-old male, had just been assaulted with a knife. According to police, the suspect had fled the scene shortly before the officer’s arrival. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the discovery, MPD officers quickly established a perimeter around the area. A Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy K9 unit was deployed to assist in the search for the suspect, though the suspect was not located during the initial efforts.

An MPD detective was assigned to the case and interviewed witnesses and the individuals involved. Investigators are actively developing suspect information, though no details regarding the suspect’s identity or description have been released at this time. Authorities believe the victim and suspect were known to each other, and the assault likely stemmed from a prior disagreement.

The investigation remains ongoing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The case is being tracked under MPD Case No. 24-15042.
